Our Locality

The local area around Cherry Trees

Cherry Trees is situated in a quiet part of Keswick, yet only 5 minutes walk from the town centre where you will find an interesting selection of shops, several museums, a cinema and theatre. Only a further 5 minute walk (10 minutes from the guest house) will take you to the shores of one of the most beautiful lakes in England - Derwentwater, which gives breathtaking views of the Borrowdale Valley.

The walking possibilities are endless, so there is something to suit all capabilities. Choose from a leisurely stroll around Derwentwater to the more strenuous climbs in the surrounding fells - even England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. There are also daily guided walks suitable for all levels of experience from the centre of Keswick from Easter to the end of October. Walks can also be arranged with an experienced local guide.

There are many other recreational options: the leisure pool in the town, Keswick's 18 hole golf course, 9 hole Pitch and Putt, and Crazy Golf in Hope Park, bowls, tennis, and putting in Fitz Park. Also nearby there is pony trekking, cycling (secure cycle shed available at Cherry Trees), paragliding and a variety of water sports.
